Jazz Lovers, Behold!

Song of the week: Tea for Two sung by Anita O'Day at Newport Jazz Festival 1958.

Aside from the obvious (read: killer scatting skills), I also like how she improvises.
I mean, the lyrics are just these:

Picture me upon your knee
Tea for two and two for tea
Can't you see how happy we could be?

Nobody near us to see us or hear us
No friends or relations on weekend vacations
We won't have it known that we own a telephone, dear

Dawn will break and you'll awake
me to bake a sugar cake
for you to take for all the boys to see

We'll raise a family
a boy for you, a girl for me
Can't you see how happy we can be with three?

But it's easily just words put into a melody, as in the song not a word has the same melody twice.
Anyway, it's old, but I just love songs like these.
Enjoy!
